2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember telephone number that connects inquirers to health and human service information in their community. Supported by United Way, federal, state and local government agencies, referral services and other community organizations, 2-1-1 is a useful tool for people who need help finding resources or assistance.

Navigating through the variety of organizations and programs that offer community services can be challenging and frustrating. 2-1-1 can offer access to physical and mental health resources; employment support; support for children, youth and families; support for older Americans and persons with disabilities; volunteer opportunities; and basic human needs such as clothing, food banks, shelters, etc.

Alaska’s 2-1-1 service is available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. 2-1-1 information may also be accessed online at www.211us.org, or at the Alaska website, www.alaska211.org.
