Lisa Huffman is the owner and managing member of Huffman Properties, LLC, a residential and commercial real estate investing company. She previously served as the chief administrative officer for The Aleut Corporation, the Alaska Native regional corporation for the Aleutian islands, where she oversaw budgets, contract negotiations and critical company functions, including administration, board engagement, communications, human resources, information technology, shareholder relations and workforce development. A 27-year Anchorage School District and Fairbanks North Star Borough School District employee, she concluded her career with ASD in 2018 as the principal of Bear Valley Elementary School. Lisa’s extensive list of board and committee appointments includes the Alaska Federation of Natives, Alaska Native Heritage Center, Alaska Pacific University’s Alaska Native Executive Leadership Program (ANELP), ANCSA Regional Association, Kenaitze Indian Tribe and University of Alaska Anchorage. Lisa holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and administration from the University of Alaska Anchorage and attended ANELP. She is a CIRI enrollee and an enrolled member of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe. Lisa was appointed to the CIRI Board in 2024 to fill the seat left by departing Director Robert Harris.
