Ella Bernice Anaruk passed away Jan. 12 at home in Anchorage. Ms. Anaruk was born Nov. 15, 1931, in Nome, Alaska. Ms. Anaruk was an inspiration to everyone who touched her life, especially all her grandchildren. She raised her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and nurtured other children close to the family. To her, family always came first. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, knitting and crocheting. Ms. Anaruk is survived by her children, Bruce Anaruk, Janice Kallander, Claude Anaruk, Dennis Anaruk, Maxine Beltz, Michelle Bacon, Eleanor Piggott and Gabriel Anaruk Jr.; brother, Henry Wheeler; sisters, Mary Rodriquez and Penny Wheeler; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Tatiana Mary Belt passed away Dec. 28, 2013, at Nazareth House in San Diego, Calif. Ms. Belt was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Holy Cross, Alaska. Ms. Belt enjoyed sharing stories about growing up in Alaska, her family, and the special kindness of Dr. & Mrs. Sogn. She is survived by her children, Sandra and John Paris; sisters, Mary McCarty and Ann Curtis; and many nieces and nephews.
