John M. Grotha, 66

John M. Grotha passed away Dec. 14 at Providence Extended Care Center in Anchorage. Mr. Grotha was born Sept. 15, 1949, in Nome, Alaska. He is survived by his sister, Linda L. Allen; brother, James E. Grotha; and nieces, Cheryl L. Allen, Amanda M. Manas and Elena Grotha.

Marjorie Jeanette Jordan, 69

Marjorie Jeanette Jordan passed away Dec. 2 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. Ms. Jordan was born Oct. 27, 1946, in Kenai, Alaska. Marjorie and her sisters, Virginia Trenton and the late Edna Linderman, were honored as CIRI Elder Shareholders of the Year in 2011. They, along with the Sisterhood of the Holy Assumption of the Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church, have been well appreciated over the years for their culinary contributions in providing fabulous food for many Kenai CIRI Friendship Potlatches. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Jordan; and sister, Virginia Trenton.

Timothy Allen Nesja, 56

Timothy Allen Nesja passed away Dec. 8 at Wyndemere Estate in Green Bay, Wis. He is survived by his son, Michael R. Nesja; and sister, Ann Bohy.

Benjamin J. Peterson, 56

Benjamin J. Peterson passed away Dec. 6 in Hazelhurst, Ga. Mr. Peterson was born Dec. 6, 1959, in Anchorage. He is survived by his spouse, Yvonne Dahl; children, Cherrelle Peterson Dahl, Benjamin Joseph Rouzan Dahl and Jarrelle Peterson; father, Bob Peterson; and in-laws, Allan and Nina Dahl.

Robert Ray Reddick, 80

Robert Ray Reddick passed away Nov. 6 at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. Mr. Reddick was born July 31, 1935, in Greene County, Ark. He will be remembered for his smile and loving personality. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; daughter, Lori S. Vigil; grandson, Benjamin Jacob Vigil; granddaughter, Kristen Ann Seal; and sister, Peggy Moore.

Eleanor Darlene Thompson, 80

Eleanor Darlene Thompson passed away Nov. 13 at Banner Churchill County Hospital in Fallon, Nev. Ms. Thompson was born Sept. 10, 1935, in Council, Alaska. Other than a brief time spent in Spokane, Wash., she lived her entire life in Alaska before retiring with her husband, George, to Fallon, Nev. Ms. Thompson is survived by her children, Dolores Napayonak and George L. Thompson II; grandson, Luke Thompson; and siblings, Lillian Christensen, Francis Walker Jr., Gladyce Williamson and Stanley Walker.

Elsa Caroline Vogel, 78

Elsa Caroline Vogel passed away Dec. 4 at home in Crescent City, Calif. Ms. Vogel was born June 21, 1937, in Nome, Alaska. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Callahan, Cheryl L. Imus, Linda C. Smith, Janette Callahan and Paul Johnson; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends in Kodiak, Alaska.
