CIRI shareholder Jeff Hurlburt Jr. earned a teaching certification in physical education from Central Connecticut State University. He is now obtaining certification to teach physical education, health and business education. Mr. Hurlburt was inspired to become a teacher after visiting the Tebughna School in Tyonek and hopes to visit the school again. Mr. Hurlburt is the son of CIRI and Tyonek Native Corporation shareholder Julie Johnnie and her husband Bert Johnnie of Anchorage. Mr. Hurlburt will seek a teaching position in the Anchorage area.
