Congratulations to CIRI Shareholder Aleshanee Nikita (Athabascan), who graduated May 26 from the New Mexico School for the Arts in Santa Fe as a dance major. Aleshanee is connected to CIRI through her father, the late Daniel Nikita, and her grandmother, the late Katherine Theodore, both originally from Eklutna, Alaska. Aleshanee was the recipient of CIRI’s Youth Recognition Award in 2020 and plans to continue her education at California State University Chico. She also completed her two-and-a-half-year leukemia-treatment journey this summer.
