Congratulations to CIRI Shareholder Timothy “TJ” Gjertson, who was honored with an Alaska First Lady’s Volunteer of the Year Award on May 17 in Juneau, Alaska. TJ founded Red Dragon Martial Arts Academy in Anchorage. Instructional rates at the academy are donation-based and vary for each student, depending on his/her income level; no student is ever turned away for an inability to pay. Through the practice of martial arts, TJ helps students achieve physical fitness, self-confidence, character development, self-discipline and a positive self-image.
