Lindsy F. Townsend, daughter of CIRI shareholder Debbie and Terry Townsend of Copper Center, Alaska, and a 2006 graduate of Glennallen High School, joined the Air National Guard in May 2008. Lindsy had six weeks at basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated with honors on Oct. 3, 2008. She spent another six weeks in Biloxi,Miss., enrolled in a human resources training program to learn the technical skills needed by the Air Force. Lindsy was also recognized as a distinguished graduate in tech school. She arrived back in Anchorage in November 2008 and is continuing her college education at the University of Alaska Anchorage. Her parents state, “We are very proud of our daughter’s decision and commitment to serving our country.”
