Southcentral Foundation’s Alaska Women’s Recovery Project (AWRP) opened its doors to the public from its first permanent location on Aug. 7.
AWRP, going on its seventh year, has a long legacy of helping women achieve recovery from drug and alcohol addictions. Over the years leading up to the new center, the women of AWRP worked together with the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority and Southcentral Foundation to build a healthy recovery community. Now that they have a safe, permanent non-stigmatizing location, the group hopes more women will come forward to share their stories and grow. For more information, call (907) 729-5190.
