Alaska Governor Sean Parnell appointed Gloria O’Neill to the University of Alaska Board of Regents for a full eight-year term on Jan. 22, 2013.

The 11-member board manages the university’s property, land, and financial assets; sets tuition rates; appoints the university president; and governs the government and instruction of the university. Appointees to the board of regents are subject to confirmation by the Legislature.
CIRI shareholder Gloria O’Neill serves as president and chief executive officer of Cook Inlet Tribal Council. She also serves as an Annie E. Casey Foundation Fellow and is a recipient of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) Alumni Humanitarian Award for her contributions to the community. O’Neill served on the board of directors for the Alaska Federation of Natives, Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Anchorage Community Land Trust and UAA Advisory Board.
O’Neill earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UAA and a master’s in business administration from Alaska Pacific University.
