CIRI held its 25th Anniversary Golf Classic on Friday, Aug. 7, at Moose Run Golf Course. The planning committee and many volunteers worked hard to put on the event that filled all 144 player slots and found sponsors for all the holes and beverage tents.
We thank the sponsors and players for their generous support. This year’s tournament raised approximately $100,000 that will support The CIRI Foundation and U.A.A.’s Alaska Native Science and Engineering Program (ANSEP). It also raised $5,000 in Mulligan proceeds that will benefit the Anchorage Schools Foundation.
Thanks to the 76 volunteers, including 40 CIRI employees. You made this event a big success. Many volunteers return year after year, and their experience helps keep the tournament running like clockwork.
We especially thank the volunteer leads:
Michele Christiansen and Christy Konigsberg (ANHC) – Reception/Calcutta
Shawn Aldren-Wilke – Golf Skills
Larry Cleland (KBC) – Heads and Tails game
David Swenson, Heidi Vania, and Justina Meyer – Course set-up/take-down
Jennifer Montano and Cheryl Bailey – Volunteer Coordinators
Ann Gibbs – Registration
Tamar Vartarian – Golf intern
Jim Jager and Maniksaq Baumgartner – Communications
Gary Roberts – Golf database
Melissa Wolf (CITC) – Accounting
Vicki Otte (ANCSA CEO’s) – Player Teams
Barbara Donatelli – Sponsorships
