Recent rains have allowed the CIRI Lands Department to begin re-issuing recreational use permits to access its lands. The dry conditions that contributed to the Funny River Road and Tyonek fires in May, prompted CIRI to close its lands to public use. However, conditions have moderated.
Permitting is required for all CIRI land use. Permits applications can be obtained online at ciri.com/our-lands/permitting. Guides, hunters and anglers, campers, tour operators, photographers, scientists, dog mushers and other outdoor enthusiasts are encourage to respect CIRI land and contact the CIRI Land and Resources Department to learn more about land use policies.
