The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) held their Annual Convention

The Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) held their Annual Convention in Anchorage at the new Dena’ina Civic & Convention Center on Oct. 23-25. The convention brings together Alaska Natives and Alaska Native organizations from the entire state and is AFN’s signature event.

CIRI hosted a booth at the convention this year. The booth featured information about CIRI subsidiaries, such as CIRI Alaska Tourism Corp., ANC Research and Development LLC and Peak Oilfield Service Co. CIRI staff offered information and assistance about CIRI jobs. CIRI Shareholder Relations Department staff helped CIRI shareholders learn about and complete stock wills. For more information on CIRI stock wills, go online to ciri.com/content/shareholders/estate.aspx.

The convention’s keynote speaker this year was Marie Kasannaaluk Greene, the president and chief executive officer of NANA Regional Corp. The convention was preceded by the First Alaskans Institute/AFN Elders & Youth Conference, which occurred at the Dena’ina Center earlier in the week on Oct. 20-21.
