The United Way of Anchorage kicked off its 2008 fundraising

The United Way of Anchorage kicked off its 2008 fundraising campaign in September to raise $10.8 million to support Anchorage social service-, health care- and education-related agencies, programs and projects. CIRI aims to contribute at least $70,000 with its employee United Way campaign.

Please join us at CIRI’s United Way kick-off on Oct. 31 at 3 p.m., in the first floor conference room to learn more about United Way and this year’s campaign. The first five people to come to the United Way Kick-off meeting dressed in a costume will get tickets for two at Friday’s game against Fresno Falcons paired with tickets for the VIP lounge.  Courtesy of Jerry Mackie and the Alaska ACES. Please come early to ensure your seats.

This year’s United Way campaign theme is Live United. It supports Anchorage projects that focus on:
Education – give all children and young people access to quality educational services that help them reach their full potential;
Income – train workers and operate job programs that give families financial security;
Health – provide community access to health education, screening and clinical services.
